About Me
"If you want to know me, watch my films."
- Charlie Chaplin

RYAN SHOVEY
In all aspects of my life and career, one thing has persisted... my drive for creativity. I began my journey into filmmaking as a director and editor. Throughout film school, I would craft stories around digital techniques I wanted to accomplish in order to wow my fellow students and professor. That goal won me a CINE Golden Eagle Award For Excellence with my short film adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart.
Since then, I have thirsted for that next level. Be it feature film writing/directing, or just crafting a well told story on the page, my hunger for excellence in the craft has yet to satiate. I'm reminded of a quote by Akira Kurosawa, "If you want to be a great director, become a great screenwriter."
That sparked my journey into professional screenwriting, which I am pursuing this very moment. I have several feature scripts ready for that next step onto the big screen.
My ultimate goal: A working Writer and/or Director in Feature Films.
Below, you can view my short film timeline. Please enjoy.
